Established by gambist Alberto Rasi, now its Musical Director, the ensemble explores vocal and instrumental repertoire from the Renaissance to the Baroque, guided by the belief that, although the scores are ancient, music is always contemporary.
Over the years, the group has become a regular guest at major international festivals, collaborating with leading European musicians. Between 2000 and 2012, under the name Il Tempio Armonico and in collaboration with violinist Davide Monti, the ensemble recorded the complete orchestral works of the Veronese composer Felice Evaristo Dall’Abaco, as well as a highly acclaimed recording of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons.
The Accademia’s recordings, released by Frequenz, Stradivarius, Divox, Sonus, Amadeus, and Challenge Classics, have received international recognition, culminating in the Midem Classical Award. Since 2020, its partnership with Challenge Classics has led to a series of ambitious and refined projects, ranging from Bach’s Die Kunst der Fuge to works by Rameau and Dowland, and, in 2024, a compelling programme of madrigals featuring Roberta Invernizzi.
At the heart of the ensemble is a consort of viols, joined by guest musicians and a variety of instruments according to the programme, ultimately forming a true chamber orchestra capable of bringing early music to life with contemporary energy and freshness.

His activity as a concert performer has led him in recent years to collaborate with prestigious artists, and to record for the major European record companies, obtaining important recognition from international critics (Diapason d’Or, 10 de Reportoire, Midem Classical Award 2007, …), and qualifying himself as a refined interpreter of his instrument.
From 2000 to 2012, with his ensemble (then under the name Tempio Armonico) and with the violinist Davide Monti, he recorded the entire orchestral works of the Veronese Felice Evaristo Dall'Abaco, and a celebrated version of Antonio Vivaldi's Four Seasons.
